1986-1993 Diploma in 1993 at the University of Bremen (Sociology, STS)
1993-1995 Research assistant at the center of women’s studies (WE-Frauenforschung) at the University of Bremen.
August 1994-January 1995 research studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, in the Science Technology Studies program (STS) and the Women’s Studies program (Prof. Dr. Evelyn Fox Keller).
1996-2000 Doctoral grant (FNK) of the University of Bremen at artec (Forschungszentrum Arbeit-Umwelt-Technik = Research Center Work-Environment-Technology).
During that time she also works at the University of Kiel Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Women and Gender (ZiF) in the BMBF-project Gender and information technology in the context of the virtual ifu (international women’s university).
2001 Doctoral degree with “summa cum laude” in the area of science, technology and gender studies (STS).
2001-2004 Department of Computer Science at the University of Bremen in the working group of Prof Dr. Heidi Schelhowe “Digital Media in Education” (DiMeB) with the main interest in science and technology studies, gender and information technology in the projects GM-Medial; ROBERTA and EEEYMS, etc.
2005-2006 Visiting Professorship at the University of Applied Science in Wilhelmshaven in the program of business informatics.
2006- 2009 Visiting Professorship at the Berlin School of Economics and Law with the denomination “knowledge management, eLearning and diversity”
Since 2009 Fulltime Professor at the Berlin School of Economics and Law with the denomination “information- and communications systems”
